3. Cómo cambia el mundo (Changes in our world)

Hace 4 años, hice un viaje a Londres con unos amigos. Resulta que, aunque no es lo más típico, después de la común visita al London Eye, fuimos a comer al McDonalds de por los alrededores. Cuando ya teníamos la comida, nos sentamos en las mesas de fuera del local, a hinflarnos de calorías. Cuando ya habíamos terminado y los restos ya reposaban en la basura, uno de mis colegas vio acercarse a una gaviota volando. Sorprendentemente, la gaviota fue a posarse justo en la basura en la que, segundos antes, habíamos tirado los desperdicios de la comida. La gaviota bajó la cabeza, cogió con el pico una bolsa que había dentro y la tiró al suelo. Luego, bajó al suelo, metió la cabeza en la bolsa y sacó una caja de nuggets que habíamos tirado nosotros ahí. Abrió la caja, agarró con el pico un nugget que había dejado mi amigo a medio terminar y se fue volando, con su presa entre las fauces.
Y yo me pregunto, hemos cambiado tanto el mundo, que los pájaros comen también en el McDonalds, o es que simplemente cada vez las gaviotas son más listas?


4 years ago, I traveled to London with some friends. After the common visit to the London Eye, we went to eat at a McDonalds near the place. When were served, we sat at the tables outside the restaurant, to start eating. When we were done and the rubish laid at the bottom of the bin, one of my colleagues saw a seagull flying towards us. The seagull came to rest right in the trash where, seconds earlier, we had thrown the food waste. The gull bowed its head, took with the peak a bag which was inside and threw it to the floor. Then it got to the ground, introduced his head into the bag and pulled out a box of nuggets, one of my friends has thrown there. He opened the box, and with its peak took a nugget that my friend had left half-finished and flew away with its food in its peak.
And I wonder, have we changed the world so much that  birds also eat al the McDonalds, or are there, simly, more clever seagulls?
